Commodity Charge Update

By bylaw, LEC's regulator, the City of North Vancouver, authorizes LEC management to make adjustments to the Commodity Charge to reflect natural gas market pricing fluctuations. The Commodity Charge is adjusted to follow the purchase price of 1,000 GJ (gigajoules)/month of gas under FortisBC's Rate Schedule 3. With the January 1, 2024 decrease to Fortis’ Rate 3 Commodity Charge, LEC’s Commodity Charge for Rate 1 decreases to $0.05395 per kilowatt hour, and Rate 2 decreases to $0.04559 per kilowatt hour as of the same date. This is a 2.71% decrease in commodity rates for LEC customers. See Commodity Charge Rates (69 KB PDF).
